Wed Like Royalty at Fairmont Scottsdale Princess
Ideas & Inspiration
All brides want to feel like royalty on their wedding day, but few can access the level of pampering afforded to, say, Kate Middleton. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess aims to change that with the initiation of its Wed Like Royalty program, which encourages guests to use the property for all their wedding-related events.
“A complete wedding celebration encompasses not only the ceremony and reception events, but the day before and the day after the wedding as well,” says Amanda Wingert, senior catering manager at the property. “We offer exclusive access and discounts so that all of the needs of our brides and grooms are met on-property.”
Included in the program are a 20 percent discount on menus for rehearsal dinners and post-wedding brunches; discounts on rentals of the South Pool Cabana; use of the Stone Rose Bar and Lounge as an onsite after-party location; and complimentary day passes to the Willow Stream Spa for the duration of the couple’s stay.
Another aspect of the royal treatment is the assignment of a “wedding shadow” to the couple on their wedding day to ensure everything goes smoothly. “The wedding shadow is outfitted with an emergency kit, so if anyone in the bridal party needs a safety pin, Band-Aid or sewing kit, our shadow has the item available. That way, the mother-of-the-bride and maid-of-honor don’t feel as if they’re working the event,” Wingert says.
And perhaps because every royal couple keeps their personal spiritual advisor close at hand, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is having as many managers as possible become legally ordained. “In the event of an emergency, if the officiant cannot make the ceremony, we’re seamless in our ability to step into the role and turn what could have been a wedding mishap into a smooth recovery,” she says.
