Wedding invitations from Arizona stationers

{1} Melanie Little of Paper Mango helped an eco-conscious couple design a memorable invite for their fall wedding at The Farm at South Mountain. The colors reflect the season, and the invitation is designed to be simple and minimize paper use: the main panel directs guests to an electronic RSVP. Little enjoyed creating the streamlined design, which has no elaborate pocketfolds or additional information cards, capturing a vintage look that suits an outdoor wedding.

{2} After some research online, the bride behind this invitation knew she wanted her invitation to feature the color purple and an image of a chandelier. Rene Showalter of Celebrations in Paper encourages her clients to bring their own ideas to design consultations—it helps her create a custom invitation. In this case, Showalter and her assistant decided on a pocket envelope in purple cardstock, which made the invitations stand out when the guests received them in the mail.

{3} Design specialist Kimberly McDowell of The Event Essentials put together an eco-chic invitation for a couple getting married at the Desert Botanical Gardens. The invitation is printed on recycled cardstock and uses a reply postcard (no envelope needed) to cut down on additional paper. The couple wanted a contemporary invitation that would reflect Arizona desert style; the copper cardstock and earthy greens give guests a preview of what’s to come.

{4} Heidi Bartlett of Idieh Design created this invitation to reflect the Western style of a couple’s rehearsal dinner: a fun-filled evening featuring country dance lessons. While Bartlett always suggests looking at other invitations for inspiration, she advises couples not to simply replicate what they see, but to think about what speaks to them as a couple. This daring design, for example, mixes custom patterns, various fonts and bold combinations of tangerine and red.

{5} Laura Alzubi of I Do Bliss urges couples not to be afraid to customize their invitations. She designed this set for a wedding that combined Chinese and Filipino cultures. The invitation mixes patterns and textures: The purple shimmer pocketfold is accented by embossed handmade metallic paper. The orchid on the front is made of silk and adheres to a seal with the couples’ names, while two silk ribbons are intertwined on the interior to complement the colors of the invitation.
