Photo Booth Flipbooks
Ideas & Inspiration
This we know for sure: Photo booths have been one of the best things to hit wedding receptions since the invention of the camera. They provide instant memories as well as a fun activity for guests. But just when you thought that the classic photo booth couldn’t possibly be improved on, Tucson-based Flipbook Memories introduced its own unique spin.
In just one minute, owner Amy Wahl and her team create unique flipbooks for guests. Yes, we’re talking about mini-books you flip through quickly so it looks like live action.
“The process is super-simple,” Wahl says. “We set up a 10-by-10-foot mobile studio, a person or people stand in front of the camera, with or without props, and we record them goofing off for seven seconds; and then within 60 seconds a book is made for them to flip through.”
The flipbooks make great favors, Wahl says, as brides can customize the cover of the book ahead of time with their names, date of the wedding or just about anything they can think of. The possibilities extend beyond favors: “It’s great for save-the-dates, invites and thank-you cards,” Wahl says. If you and your soon-to-be husband aren’t the shy type, Wahl suggests the bride and groom dress up and perform a funny skit for the camera, have it printed in a flipbook and send it out as a save-the-date, or even as an invitation for more casual weddings.
