New Amenities at the Wigwam
Ideas & Inspiration
After a four-month, $7 million-dollar renovation, the West Valley’s historic Wigwam resort has recaptured its historic glory and transformed itself into not just a venue but a wedding destination, according to Jenna Ertl, marketing communications manager.
The resort has added four new event lawns, gardens and courtyards; Litchfield’s, a new signature restaurant; plenty of al fresco dining space on private patios; a new pool and water complex; and has restored the property’s original 1918 fireplace lounge.
Expanded ceremony and reception options include the Trellis Garden and Courtyard, which is anchored by four olive trees and has a hardscaped, customizable patio; the Garden Green, a private golf green suitable for intimate ceremonies; the newly landscaped Wigwam Lawn; and the Old Litchfield Church, a non-denominational chapel that can be reserved through the property.
The addition of Litchfield’s restaurant reinforces the Wigwam’s commitment to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients in its cuisine. Vendors from the weekly farmers’ markets held on-property provide many of the ingredients for the restaurant and catering menus. “The idea behind ‘farm to table’ isn’t a concept but a lifestyle,” Ertl says. “The entire feeling of the resort has been transformed from a place that does weddings to a place that almost looks like it was designed for social activities and celebrations,” she adds, “which was the original intent of the Wigwam when it was built.”
