Dog-Friendly Arizona Hotels
Ideas & Inspiration
The days of sneaking Fido into your hotel room during a vacation or honeymoon are over. Three Valley of the Sun properties not only welcome pets, but do their best to wow their four-legged guests, along with their two-legged “parents.”
At W Scottsdale Hotel, pets are greeted with a treat and a toy at check-in, are treated to a custom pet bed, food and water bowls, and can feast on items from a pet-friendly in-room dining menu prepared by the staff of Sushi Roku. The property’s “Pets Are Welcome” (P.A.W.) program also offers pet-sitting and pet-walking services, and a monthly dog yoga fitness series.
Visitors to the InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa can bring along pets of less than 40 pounds for their stay. Treats, chew toys, a personalized placemat and a travel dish are available at check-in. Pet parents and their pups can come to the Yappy Hour mixer at the resort on the last Thursday of the month; half of the $10 donation goes to the Humane Society and each member of the pet-parent duo gets a drink (wine for humans, water for dogs) and an edible treat (gourmet cheese, Bentley’s Biscuits dog treats).
Canines that stay at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa in Scottsdale will no doubt rest easy, as they’re provided with a Heavenly Dog Bed, an ultra-comfortable pet version of the Westin’s Heavenly Bed for humans. The Westin also provides pet owners with rooms adjacent to exercise areas. And don’t forget about the resort’s furry ambassador Scotty, a Scottish terrier often seen greeting his four-legged friends at check-in.
