Colorful Wedding Invitations
Dazzle your guests with bright hues and personalized themes throughout your invitation suite.

{1} Newlyweds Lisa and Adam—who call themselves “The L.A. Team”—were super-excited to be getting married, and Envelope Envy’s Jennifer Newman had the pleasure of translating that enthusiasm into their invitations. A pop of pink complements the bold black-damask print and traditional typefaces in this sleek design. The side pocket keeps all the pieces together, ensuring guests easy access to their accommodations, rehearsal dinner and RSVP card. If the ribbon band isn’t your style, consider closing your invite with a square seal.

{2} Rikki Hernanskey a.k.a. The Invitation Lady joined creative forces with a world-traveling bride and groom to design this jovial destination wedding invitation. Hernanskey combined the couple’s colorful personalities and love for travel, while still accommodating the mother-of-the-bride’s traditional style. The folds provide a simplified and organized collection of information, from notes on accommodations to a debriefing on the exotic wedding locale of Tulum, Mexico. All the while a calligraphed cover sets the vacation-like tone of the celebration.

{3} Upon first glance this invitation seems straightforward. But look again—its deceptively simple design reveals myriad special details. The Blushing Violet’s Tracie Patchen-Wain designed this piece for a relaxed couple whose theme mixed Hollywood glam with a retro appeal. Patchen-Wain worked with green and purple, their already-established accent colors, to incorporate graphic details, such as the medallion header and detailed map, without being too formal. The final touch? A wax seal, which wowed all the guests. Continue your invitation’s aesthetic into coordinating menu cards, table numbers, placecards and (don’t forget!) thank-you cards for a complete suite.

{4} For a creek-side wedding in Sedona, Ali Ink’s Jill Lenius paired peacock blue with coppery orange, colors found throughout the natural elements of the resort locale. Lenius worked with the couple to design a “lovebird” theme without being too literal—hence the playful bird motif. Graphic icons on the RSVP postcard represent the reception’s meal choices: a cow for the beef plate, a carrot for vegetarians and a fish to signify halibut. A schedule of events accompanied the invitation to keep guests abreast of all activities, from the rehearsal dinner to the bon voyage.
