Bold and Beautiful
Ideas & Inspiration
1. (Top left) Jill Lenius of Ali Ink Design created this sea-inspired number for a couple planning an intimate destination wedding. Knowing that the bride and groom would be exchanging their vows on a terrace overlooking the beach, she chose seashells and coral as motifs for this pocket-fold invitation. For destination weddings that require lots of information, this organized invitation set makes it easy for the guests without compromising style.
2. (Top middle) Guests who receive this letter-pressed invitation will immediately know they’re being summoned to a stylish, refined wedding celebration. Designer Angela Hardison of Seesaw Designs worked with the bride to conceive a classic yet modern invite with a vintage twist. Keeping the color scheme simple, they added a pop of green using the envelope—a nod to the bagpipe music to be played at the wedding, and the groom’s Scottish roots.
3. (Top right) Bored to tears by the same old conventional invitations, yet seeking something that doesn’t stray too far from the traditional? Then this invitation is perfect for you. Designed by Lindsay Tingstrom-Casey for an outdoor ceremony, this set combines just the right combination of bold colors and playfulness with traditional typography to create this sprightly piece. Customize your own monogram and tweak it to match your wedding colors. Seesaw Designs
4. (Center) Tracie Patchen-Wain set out to design this pocket-fold suite for her best friend’s wedding to be held outdoors at a castle. Integrating the paisley print in tiffany blue with textured white paper and dark magenta floral accents, she evoked a sense of charm and enchantment. The Blushing Violet
5. (Bottom left) Designed for an outdoor wedding, this garden-themed invite takes various elements from Mother Nature to form an organic and lush piece. From flowers to butterflies and billowing grass, there are a myriad of illustrations to choose from. The mix of the broad palette with the fun, casual style befits summery nuptials. Ali Ink Design
6. (Bottom right) Who doesn’t love blending style with function? In the midst of designing the wedding program for her best friend’s wedding, Tracie Patchen-Wain kept in mind that the weather would be warm, so the program folds out into a hand-held fan. The cherry blossom illustration on the program was a recurring motif in the place cards, as well as in the thank-you cards sent post-honeymoon. The Blushing Violet
