Shaina & Matthew

Taking cues from the Tempe Center for the Arts’ contemporary vibe, Shaina Solochek and Matthew Rozen filled their wedding with modern takes on old traditions. During a Jewish ceremony (officiated by a friend of Matthew’s), the couple switched up the custom of the bride circling the groom beneath the chuppah; instead, the couple circled each other to symbolize equality in their marriage. And rather than a sit-down meal, the couple created a cocktail-party feel with food stations serving gourmet pizzas, beef short ribs with Gruyère potatoes, and teriyaki chicken. A pair of dueling pianos kept the 90 guests on their feet, while an ice cream sundae bar in place of a cake made for a sweet send-off.
