Angela & Artie

For her shabby-chic farm-themed nuptials to fiancé Artie Cook, the self-professed artsy-craftsy Angela Dixon went into DIY mode. She began by planting succulents that she later used for the reception’s tabletop décor; for her bridesmaids, she sewed burlap flowers that clipped onto their dresses, and gifted them with portraits she painted herself. The flower girls’ baskets and accessories, ring pillow, table runners and centerpieces? Angela made those, too. (She recruited Artie to help her burn table numbers into wood slices, and a family friend helped her make strawberry jam as favors.) Even the crowd got in on the crafting action: 160 guests each pressed their thumbprint onto an illustration of a tree that now hangs in the Cooks’ home.
