Allison Friefield and Jason Steinberg’s courtship took place in Austin, Texas—the couple attended the University of Texas together, and Jason proposed with the city’s waterfront as a backdrop. But for Allison, having her fall wedding in her hometown of Scottsdale was a no-brainer. The InterContinental Montelucia Resort’s stunning sunset and mountain views inspired a palette of eggplant and orange; the rest of the décor stayed elegantly simple with white calla lilies and flower vines. String Serenade performed for the ceremony while dance-band Tribe 7 energized the reception. The party included 180 guests, plus a few Texan touches: a longhorn-shaped groom’s cake, and the band’s rendition of UT’s fight song.
